Physical Therapy Assistant?

I would like to be a Physical Therapist.
But Before Physical Therapist I would like to be a Physical Therapy assistant in California.
After Physical Therapy Assistant Can I work in private Clinic during 5yrs and than Can I challenge the Physical Therapist Licence Exam? or Do I have to go to the university again and than I have to Take the Licence Exam?
Also How much Can I earn per month if I am a Physical Therapy Assistant?

you can be a physical therapy aide without going to school. to become an assistant you need to go to a PTA program that is certified by the APTA and then you need to pass a board exam. When you want to become a PT you have to go back to school and finish a PT program, either masters or doctorate, and then take the PT boards exam...you can't just skip that part. I'm not sure how much PTA's make, depends on where in the country you are and what kind of place like hospital or outpatient clinic. But if you know you want to be a PT, why be a PTA first?
