Physical therapy question, for physical therapists especially.?

I am undergoing physical therapy for back pain. I have had 3 PTs at the one clinic. Each one does entirely different and sometimes contradictary things (e.g., ice pack from one, heat pack from another). No touching from one, much manipulation from the other. Why so much variation?

Different PTs; different opinions on how to treat. I would speak to the one that seems to be helping the most and tell them you would like to have their exercises noted and do them with every PT you have.

Maybe they are not treating you, but treating what they think you require.
Some therapists can be very minded in their approach to how to treat.
Find someone who is intuitive and listens to your body, not necessarily is reacting to the instructions relative to what they think is your problem.
Acupressure and acupuncture are good approachs, as a good therapist will not only treat what they think are your symptoms, but also be treating the cause.

It could also be that they are working with each other, and are trying the best approach from a lets do this and see how he responses type of thing.
Each therapist would keep notes as to what you presented with, and what treatment they gave, so ask them why they are doing something different each time.
If you are asking this question, maybe you do feel a little uneasy about what is happening, so listen to this, and ask, and if not happy with the answers for you, try something else.

It is your body, and each person is different.

Have you ever looked at EFT, you will find in on the internet.
Its Emotional Freedom Technique, it works wonders.
It does not take long to understand the science behind the application, and the proof is there to see.

I trust all will work out, and remember all pain in the body is lessons about self.

Peace in the heart
