Physical therapy for pedal oedema?

a person with pedal edema with shiny skin changes coming with history of stroke before 1 year becase of hypertension what physical therapy can we given to reduce it?or any other physical modality

Pedal edema in a case of hypertension may be a sign of Congestive Cardiac Failure.
Patient will need check up & treatment of the cause.
Good luck!

This first needs to be ruled out for a cardiac cause. Once that has been cleared, manual lymph drainage and multilayer bandaging with eventual fitting for compression garments (most likely a very light compression) might be in order.

But this situation is highly supicious for congestive heart failure and needs to be followed up by a physician. I had a patient like this referred to me once by an orthopedic surgeon...I immediately sent her to her primary care phsycian and refused to see her until she did so. We called a week later and found out she had died...she WAS in heart failure and unfortunately it was too late for her primary doctor to do much about it.
