Phobias and fears,how to overcome this?

what are the most feared things,situation or any that people could have?
what are the gruesome and cruelest a person could die because of his fears/pobias?
Is this running to our blood passes generation to generation or simply developes from the surrounding and environment?
pls give some link about fears and phobias,or the cruelest and gruesome ways of how could it lead a person to his death.
dont worry, its a research project, and not some asking for a clues how to kill people,lol.
