Do more females have phobias than males? If yes, then why?

I also have to do a survey...so if you can, please include any phobias that you have and plz also mention what gender you are.

Specific phobias are about twice as common in females as males. Since the causes of phobias aren't well understood, it's almost impossible to say why that gender bias exists. There's some evidence that there is a genetic factor in phobias, which could concievably be sex-linked, but it's not a clear-cut thing like there's some specific mutation on the X chromosome that causes a fear of spiders or anything - it's more like there might be a mutation somewhere that makes it more likely that you'll develop a phobia if a whole bunch of other factors are also present. I would guess that part of why it's reportedly more common in females than males is that it's more socially acceptable for females to admit to a phobia, but I doubt that's enough to explain the entire discrepancy. It's possible that various sexual neuroanatomic sexual dimorphisms are somehow involved in phobias, but again, it's nearly impossible to comment on this without knowing what causes a phobia in the first place.

A recent posting on line showed this test result...Girls were more than twice as likely as boys to say they felt bad about themselves. Girls were also more than three times as likely to say they felt used as a result of having sex. I think early on females have more emotional battles than young males. I also feel that females are blessed later with children and more social interactions allowing them to lose phobias and emotional problems. The males begin serious mental problems and phobias that come from mental problems in their twenties and for the rest of their lives. Sex for a male has many more faces than it has for the older female.

Generally speaking ,.Women has low DA & NA levels, these nurotransmitters are very important in the daily activitys.
