If I cut the PEEL off my APPLE am I putting FEWER PESTICIDES into my body?

someone said to me thats where most of the pesticides go. In the peel

Buy organic. The more I learn about what they do to food, the scarier it is. It's more $$ but at least it's safe to eat!

Also most of the vitamins. Buy organic.

Just wash it real good! By peeling it your loosing most of the food value.

It's also where most of the anioxidents and nutrients are. Should probably leave it on :)

Not if you wash it good. Also when you peel your apple your taking away some of the best sources for vitamins, minerals etc etc

yes i think so as . if the farmer uses pesticide most would be in the skin not 100 per cent but thats my thought on it

To peel that apple, or not to peel... Actually, no direspect meant to Bill Shakespeare, there's no question here! Whenever possible, don't peel that apple. Two-thirds of the fiber, and many of the antioxidants, are found in apple's peel.

However, try to buy organically grown apples -- those are produced without chemicals. Since apple growers are not required by law to tell you what they have sprayed on their fruit, you could be getting more than you bargained for. Some apples will still carry high amounts of pesticides that are especially harmful to children. If you cannot find organically grown apples, either scrub your produce well or sacrifice that fiber-rich peel before eating.
