This is for all you brilliant medical folks out there. How does a human body rid itself of pesticides that?

may still contaiminate a product that is consumed either by ingestion or smoking. It doesn't take much research to find out that many times pesticide residue is, for whatever reason, not completely removed from crops and is therefore included in whatever is being made from that crop. In what form does it come out as waste in a person. Assuming the amount was not enough to kill someone, what signs does the body exhibit if it has pesticides in its system? The body gets rid of material that is either "not friendly" or that it doesn't need by urinating, bowel moments or sweating, so which form/forms do pesticides leave or is it absorbed into the blood steam? Along the same lines, if a crop is infested with any insect, most importantly, the ones that are harmful to humans, and that insect is passed along in a product to be ingested or smoked, how does the human body respond and eliminate the "intruder"? Thank you.

God's Speed and Grace,
Nancy

Well pesticides like essentially all toxins are eliminated from the body via the liver. The liver has enzyme systems that can break down virtually any toxin or poison into an alternate form that is then removed from the body in the urine or stool. Generally speaking toxins aren't typically eliminated intentionally via sweating although toxins may appear within sweat. Now I know what you're thinking, why is it that people still die from poisoning? This is because certain toxins attack areas of the body before they can be eliminated or they are present in such a high concentration that the detox enzymes are overwhelmed.

The body normally will not show symptoms of poisoning unless the toxins are present in high enough levels to overwhelm the liver's detox enzymes. The most common type of pesticide poisoning is due to organophosphates. The symptoms include excessive tear formation, diarrhea, low heart rate, and respiratory distress due to increased mucus production. However, this type of poisoning only occurs when the victim spills a concentrated amount of the pesticide on their clothing or if they're unfortunate enough to be underneath of a crop duster. I am not aware of any specific symptoms that people show from ingestion of pesticides. This is because it takes a very high concentration of pesticides to affect us.

Pesticides leave the body in a modified or broken down version of their original form. The enzymes also attach other proteins to them to essentially "tag" them for elimination in the urine or stool.

I think i've answered all of the questions you asked. Shoot me an email if you need more clarification. I hope this helps.
