I was a medic in 1976-79.We used herbicide and pestIcides, The color was orange.Was agt org still used?

I was a medic for the 2/502nd Inf. from Feb 1976-March 1979. We used herbicide that was orange color and pesticides when we would clear out follage for latrines. We also used bug replellant in a small bottle od green we kept on the band of our helmet. Why I am asking is because I have lung diease and skin splotches of my arms. I have a lot medical problems and know that the chemicals I was introduced by the US Army has a lot to do with it. So please help a vet out. Thanks

Yes agent orange was still being used then.I know it was in malathion which my father used quite often when we lived in texas to kill mosquitos.I believe it wasnt banded until the early 80's but dont quote me.

Agent orange was not used after 1971...however, I would contact your Veteran's center and inquire about the chemicals you did use. There are carcinogen's in a lot of chemicals.

Agent Orange was used during that time period, overseas and in the U.S. My uncle was exposed to it in Viet Nam and his heart is turning to charcoal as well as numerous other health problems all from Agent Orange. In 1978, while on vacation in Oregon, where there is a huge use of Agent Orange for the logging industry, a semi truck jack knifed on the roadway,spilling its contents of Agent Orange into our swimming hole, my brother and sister ate crawdads out of that water and got deathly ill, vomitting and fever. Definitely contact your Veterans Admin.
