How to protect yourself from pesticides?

Please? it's really important. Thanks.

Pesticides are supposed to be used in a safe manner ( well, not for the pests, but you know what I mean ...........)

If you are living or working where pesticides are being used frequently, then that definitely is a problem.

Cleanliness is the single most important protective step. Be sure that door handles, counter tops, and other frequently touched surfaces are kept clean. Wash hands frequently. The usual stuff.

If there is a lingering odor from a pesticide application, then ventilate the area.

No one should be in the area when pesticides are being applied. The applicator is supposed to be trained in the proper use and handling of the chemicals, and they are also supposed to give the tenants/workers pertinent info on exposure risks and remedies.

Many chemicals lose their potency over time, but not all of them.

If you are concerned about pesticides being used around you, it is your right to ask for info, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), etc.

If your concern is pesticides in food, then actively seeking "Organic" food sources is getting easier all the time. Ask your local grocer to point that aisle out for you. :)

I hope this info helps. Good Luck with it.
