Pertussis (Whooping cough)?

i just found out i have pertussis yesterday. i got the medications for it. it's supposed to go away in 5 days.

i wanted to know if anyone has had it, and wanted to know if it went away before 5 days. or if it went away in 5 days. alsooo im 12, and i wanted to know if i have a grearer risk of it getting really serious.
please and thank you!!

You've had two DPT shots and you expect us to believe you have petussis?????

I have had 5 dtp shots and I still caught it. Report It

don't know. but I once had strep throat and got anti-biotics from the doctor for it, it was supposed to go away in 7 days, but it went away faster than that!

With the new meds 5 days is probably right. You're at the right age to throw it off pretty good. One thing pertussis is noted for is slightly damaging the immune system, usually manifested by increased or higher allergy responses.
