Anyone know about whooping cough?

Hi... I took my children to the pediatrician yesterday and she said she thinks they have Whooping Cough (Pertussis)... and is treating them all as such. Thing is, they all three had the DTaP vaccine and so shouldn't be able to catch this... has anyone else had experience with this? I'm just thinking if the vaccine didn't protect them, why in the world did I let them put it in their system?!

Assuming you are in the US
Actually you can look on the WHO website [world health organization] Our rates for whooping cough have gone up dramatically in the last few years, even though most of the population is vaccinated.

That is why vaccines should be researched, individually before they are given. People don't know these facts ahead of time.
Just because the doctor said to. hmph.
I'm not anti-vax, but I think there is a lot of problems with mandating all the vaccines that they do.

Hope they feel better.

that is weird. ask your doctor, but i've heard of a lot of kids coming down with it lately.
