I have a small lump near my collarbone. Should I be worried?

On Tuesday I went to the doctor for a physical and they gave me a tetanus/diptheria/pertussis shot in my upper left arm. The next day, I had a painful lump near my left collarbone. It is about the size of a bean. If I put pressure on it slips out from under my fingers. It can actually be moved to the front of my collar bone, on top of my collarbone, or into the hollow behind my collarbone.

Is this something I should be worried about? I hate to go to the doctor and so I'd rather avoid if I can, but this has got me more than a little concerned.

Please, if anyone has had this happen to them or knows what this could be, let me know!

It's not an awkward shape and it's the same color as my skin. In fact, if you're just looking at it, you can't tell anything is wrong. Also, I found another YahooAnswers question from two months ago where the asker had the same problem after a tetanus shot. Another user answered by saying they had the same thing, but no one really gave an answer as to what it was. *Sigh* It looks like I'll probably have to call the doctor. :-(

Lymph nodes SHOULD move. (and you definitely have lymph nodes just above each collar bone...more prominent if you shrug) The cancerous ones tend to be fixed. They should feel squishy, and be about the size of a pea. It won't be discolored. It might be a bit tender. It's pretty normal for a lymph node to swell near an injury (like an injection site). I wouldn't worry about it. If it persists, call your doc.

You need to ask the doctor, good luck

best thing to do go to the doctor it might be something bad f you dont it could get worst

It's probably always been there, I have a few of those in different places, they're called lymphnoids or somthin like that.

Ok if you're really worried just go to the doctor. Or at least call!

Has it changed colors or have an akward shape to it? if yes to both questions then I would have it checked out right way don't delay. ok?

it is probably just a lymph node, but call your Doctor, it will help ease the worry. Also Tetanus shots will make your arm very sore the next day...

Lymph nodes can get swollen but they shouldn't move. You may have a cyst. You really should get this checked out. It could be serious or it could be nothing, but why take the chance? Good luck.

OH i had one of these one and i got really freaked out but it was on the right side of my neck. I went to the doctor to see what it was and they said it was something similar to a charley horse like in your leg. Probably just a swollen lymph node :] but if i were you i would probably go to the doctor just to be positive it wasnt anything serious.
