Does any body know about the severe personality disorders, and is there treatment? |
available for people with them? can people recover and achieve the life they want with a severe personality disorders? can any treatment be successful? or are they untreatable. i need to feel like theres hope for me, because ive been given the diagnosis of personality disorder, but i worry to that i display symptoms of a mental illness thats not being diagnosed. constant emptiness, bleak low moods, dispair, racing disorganised thoughts constantly, obsessive worries and ideas, paranoia that people are plotting against me. ive socially isolated myself and havent gone out for weeks, its not i dont want to go out but feel as though i cant. because when i do go out, i feel detachment, feel pparanoia like everybodys watching me, and struggle to control feelings of inner rage. which i feels comes from bullying throughout secondary school, and repressed anger, and a combination of the way my life is now...no job.never worked. im 29. never had friends or a girlfriend. feel lonely .isolated theres so many dreams and hopes for my life, but i dont feel i can achieve them for eg. living in my own home, in employment, with a nice girl, emmegration. i feel so far away from these goals i feel i can never get there. i despair living in a one bedroom flat on my own on benefits, living in manchester. its not how i want to live...can anyone offer any advice?....also has anyone heard about the personality disorder law that might come into play where they can detain people with severe personality disorders? will it come into law?.....plus will all my medical notes the fact i have mental health probs and personality disorder, will affect areas of my life like work and employment and what i want to do? will anybody be able to bring my past up and use it against me? This is my opinion, and others will probably disagree. Save your money, go to God, and let him renew your mind, personality, and emotions. Trust me, the Lord can do it without meds and people with degrees. You need to see your GP and get some depression medicine. I think you need more help than we could ever offer at Yahoo Answers. You are half there, though, because you realize that you have a problem that needs fixing. You haven't said whether you have a psychiatrist. What about family? You sound very intelligent and straight forward with your question. Try to see a doctor. In the meantime my heart is with you and I am praying that you will get well soon. You are too young to be spending your life that way. God bless. Personality disorders are fairly common and yes, there are good treatments for most of them. Dialectic treatment can work wonders for borderline personality disorder. You need to seek the help of a psychiatrist in order to be adequately diagnosed and to learn what the most appropriate treatment would be for the disorder that you have. There are many differences between a personality disorder and depression. Look up personality disorders online and see what information you can come up with. You don't say which personality disorder you have been diagnosed with or by what type of doctor. You should ask that doctor for details as to treatment options. You have answered a lot of your own question. Having been bullied at school, never having had a job, no friends male or female, you are living in isolation. All not good. You are not interacting with anyone only your self, not healthy. Look at all the things you have listed and try to address them one at a time, take it easy as there are never any easy answers just trial and error. Have you mentioned to the doctor that you are a victim or should I say a survivor of bullying? Go out and buy yourself a bunch bag and kick a!!! You will only be hurting your own fists but getting to grips with all that anger. Little steps at a time and good luck for the future. |
