Why do so many folks with hep c have personality disorders?

Why do so many folks with hep c have personality disorders?

How can you make a generalization like that? I've been involved in a support group with over 300 members for several years, and while there's been a few (probably less than 5) with personality or mental health issues, the majority are normal, regular people.
The answerer above that grouped all people with Hep c into a "drug users" category is also making an incorrect generalization. While IV drug use is a definite risk factor and many people did acquire it that way, it is inaccurate to suggest that all are druggies or ex-druggies. Many people in the medical field are infected through the risks of that type of work (paramedics, nurses, phlebotomists, doctors, etc). Many people acquired Hep C through blood transfusions or organ transplants, through military service vaccinations (especially Vietnam Vets) and some even when they were born through perinatal transmission. Please don't make judgements & categorize all people based on inaccurate information.

I've never heard of that, but doesn't everyone have some kind of disorder.

maybe because alot of hep c is aquired because of dirty needles its not so much personality disorders but the effects of drug use

Hadn't really noticed.

A lot of people have Hep C; a lot of people have a lot of things....Maybe it's just that the people with "personality disorders" are more open to talking about their 'personal issues'; whatever they may be...!

I don't know about that.....

I know a lot of people, and many of them have ('so cal') "personality disorders"...granted some do have "Hep C", others don't; the bigger question is, why do so many people have 'Personality Disorders'??!?

What are you talking about??

Are you speaking about yourself? I HAD Hepatitis C and never found myself to have any personality disorder. I think you need a reality check.
