Does anyone here know the distinction between bi-polar and bordeline personality disorders?

Because I could swear that bordeline mood swings are from environmental stimuli whereas bipolar is more chemical in nature, or so the psychiatrists and pharmaceutical companies claim

check out this link it as lots of information on borderline personality disorder. i havnt got any experience of BPD so i cant really comment but ive just looked through the info on the site above and im sure it will help you

Borderline mood swings are absolutely all about the person's reactions to outside stimuli. The person can swing 180 degrees depending on how she perceives others are treating her (a big problem with this personality is that they are so reliant on outside stimuli for validation and reassurance). Borderline are notoriously difficult to treat, passive-aggressive, narcissistic, and insecure - therapy often fails them because they change doctors frequently and tend not to follow medical advice.
Bipolar patients swing between moods depending on their chemical imbalance. The moods can be muted, if not controlled, through medication (talk therapy always helps in dealing with the unhealthy coping mechanisms that the patient has set up in order to deal with the aforementioned chemical imbalance).
