OMG, Socion is right, I have a personality disorder, or two?

I just read about the different types of Personality Disorders.

I think I have a Histrionic disorder along with Emotionally Unstable and Borderline personality. All me. WTF? What do I do? All my life (recently) I was trying to analyze all these patterns in my behavior, and here it is, all on one page... How weird. Do a lot of people suffer from this?

It says that people with these disorders display the following:
1. Excessive sensitivity to criticism or disapproval.
- I hate being perceived as being wrong
2. Excessive concern with physical appearance
- OMG. I recently had veneers done cuz I hated my teeth. I always Dress to impress.
3. Making rash decisions.
- I am very spontaneous. I can easily decide that I am sick of my car and call the dealership and get a new one, more expensive, and I gotta have it right away!
I always crave excitement, I am shallow, want what i can't have, dangerous relationships, I tend to do VERY risky bets.

Is that it?

My mood can shift easily. One day I may really want something, the next day I change my mind.
I tend to challenge confrontation.
I get irritated when everything is quiet, I will start a fight out of nothing, for no apparent reason.
I create difficult situations in life for myself, I get satisfaction from overcomoing problems I guess...
I like extreme challenges, even if it can be harmful to health, especially when I know that people will hear about it and will go "YOU'RE NUTS MAN", its a way I get attention.
I can be doing 2 contradicting things at the same time, like plan a divorce, and making an offer on a condo with my wife at the same time. I can be making long term plans at work, like requesting a new employee for myself, and looking for another job at the same time.
My life is like a pendulum, I swing from one extreme to the other, hate to be in the middle. When i am in the grey area though, I make crazy bets and see where it takes me, just a flip of a coin!

The fact that you recognize all these "symptoms" is a healthy sign. If you don't feel that you could change most of them by yourself, seek professional help, first at the counseling level by a psychologist, who should recommend some behavior and thinking modification strategies. If you put your best efforts into making the recommended changes, and this doesn't work, then it's time to go to the next step and seek psychiatric help. Don't concern yourself with labels - you are not "doomed" to become a basket case just yet! LOL Concern yourself with trying to make the changes in your behavior and attitudes to improve the quality of your life.
