Is anyone using peritoneal dialysis at home? What kinds of problems have you encountered?

Is anyone using peritoneal dialysis at home? What kinds of problems have you encountered?

I have a client of mine on peritoneal dialysis. The main thing to watch out for is peritonitis which can occur when bacteria invades the peritoneal cavity by contact or airborne contaminants. The other thing is the special diet in which weight gain is a major factor. Anyone can be taught to do it and it can virtually be done anywhere. No more trips to the dialysis clinic. Good Luck!
