Dialysis/Transplant Question?

What are the exercise restrictions for a person:
1. on hemodialysis
2. on peritoneal dialysis
3. with a kidney transplant
Any help from doctors or nurses would be greatly appreciated!

This is a nursing class question so any rationale would be appreciated too.

Hemodialysis - probably none.
Peritoneal Dialysis - you've got a tube coming out of your abdomen. You'd have to avoid contact sports.
Transplant - the transplanted kidney is typically located in front near the groin. It is not protected by much at all. Avoid contact sports or use a kidney belt designed to protect this area.

Call your doctor, they are guaranteed to know, and any "phony" doctors may give the wrong information on her, you never know who is answering your question.
