I was wondering if anybody knows of any financial assistance programs in NY State for periodontal disease? |
I am a 27 year old woman who has been suffering from severe periodontitis since I was 21. I am a newly single mother, and this has affected my life tremendously. I am extremely depressed because of this situation and don't know which way to turn. I don't think I can afford the expensive fees for the work I need, but I don't know what to do. I have even been having trouble finding somebody local that performs full mouth restoration as well as periodontal treatment that would be willing to assist with a reasonable payment plan. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I need to make a positive change as soon as possible. I don't know of any programs in New York State. I would contact OHA, Oral Health America, to find out if they can assist you at all. Or check out their web site.\ THIS IS JUST A THOUGHT: MAYBE YOU COULD TRY TO FIND A HOSPITAL THAT HAS A DENTAL RESIDENCY PROGRAM. THE DR THAT MAY HELP YOU ARE BEING TAUGHT BY DENTISTS.I LIVE IN SCHENECTADY NY AND ST CLARES HOSPITAL HAS SUCH A PROGRAM.YOU MAY WANT TO GIVE A CALL.YOU NEVER KNOW UNTIL YOU TRY. PHONE 518 382 2000 ASK FOR DENTAL SUITE. I have a great discount dental plan. The savings are up to 80%. It is only $11.95 per month for single and $19.95 for a whole household. I have been telling everyone about this plan. My mouth feels and looks so much better now that I can afford a dentist. If you have no coverage I urge you to check them out. It is so worth it! |
