I think I do have periodontal disease. But, I take massive narcotics for other illnesses, & the dentists ....? |
The dentists are having trouble getting my teeth numb! My pain doctor said to tell my new dentist to times what he would normally give a regular person by 12, in order to deaden my teeth!! I just had a myleogram, and they almost lost me by my ability to breathe.... Any suggestions? I am going to have him put me to sleeep... but I don't think he knows what he's getting into! They had to do a general anethesia for the myleogram... which is very unheard of...I take dilaudid in a interthaeceal pump, directly into my spine, at 17 mg/day. Then, Morphine Sulfate 30 mg 8/day and methadone 10 mg 4/day....... any suggestions? How can the dentist actually get my teet deadened??? I think you need to get a second opinion from an orthodontist instead of a regular dentist. And if you HAVE to have your teeth extracted the procedure can and should be done in a hospital's operating room. Taking the medications that you do can cause you to go into respiratory failure if you have general anesthesia performed by a dentist. This procedure needs to be done under the close supervision of an anesthetist and a respiratory specialist. You need to change your pain doctor and your dentist before you end up in heaven! Thank God a few light bulbs came on in your head. Leave them ON!!! Good luck and God bless you. You better follow the first answer you got. There are times when dentists get bad medicine in which the novacaine was bad, it happened to us once. But never go under while taking the medications that you are taking, you must do as the first person said to dao. By the way, I never heard of someone taking morphine and methadone. Methadone is usually given when trying to withdrawl from a piticular medicine. But hey, i don't know what your pain is and what your problems are and I am no doc. Good luck. get the dentist to refer you to an oral surgeon. they will knock you on your ***. they will find a way to get you numb |
