Has anyone ever had periodontal disease and not found on x-rays from dentist? X-rays only show hard tissue images. Gums are soft tissue and unless there is massive calculous build up, it doesn't show disease. Yes, I had periodontal disease and it wasn't discovered by x-rays. It was quite evident by the condition and looks of the gums when he examine me. He prescribed medication and it cleared up after a while. |
