Is there a home remedy for periodontal (gum) disease?

Dentist recomended deep root cleaning (below the gums). Not covered by insurance

No, unfortunately there is no home remedy for gum disease. However, treatment with antibiotics sometimes helps. I have included a couple of links for home remedies that you might want to try while figuring out what is best for you to do. Best of luck with it.

no.... listen to your dentist

rinse your mouth with alcohol to kill the bacteria

use stimudent sticks and try swishing/brushing with peroxide/baking soda.

floss and gargle with peroxide, dont swallow.

I've always heard that rinsing with Hydrogen Peroxide helps.

You need to brush your teeth with Listerine or a mouthwash that is tea tree oil based. You do need to get this taken care of professionally though or you risk losing your teeth.

listen to your dentist - most dentist will work out a payment plan - you need to have it done periodontal disease has been linked to heart and other health problems

There comes a time when you need to spring for certain costs for your health sake. Periodontal disease is one. If you let it go too long you will lose your teeth, not to mention getting infected in your heart. That's what Bobby Darin died of at age 39.

I suffer from periodontal disease and really the only way to get help is the deep cleaning. It is caused by plaque and tarted getting built up under the gum which allows the bacteria infect the gum. There are no home remedies to help. Flossing deep will help prevent any further damage and brushing more frequently and if your gums are infected using peroxide rinses will help the infection.

I am going through the treatments right now, it's 4 weeks of deep cleaning and it is costing me $164.00 each week for the cleaning, which is a lot cheaper than having teeth pulled and partials, implants or dentures cost if you add it all up. A lot of dentist will allow you to prepay before they start or set you up on a payment plan. If this dentist don't have those options you may think about changing dentist to one that does help with cost. Good luck to you.
