Perimenopause?

Hi,
I've had hot flashes, no period for about 3 months and feel like I'm going mad. I've been told these are symptoms. I'm 38, could I be experiencing this?

At 38 you could definitely be perimenopausal. Be sure to check w/ your doc to rule out pregnancy, though, since you've missed your cycle for 3 months.

To help with the hot flashes and feeling "mad" (are you anxious, depressed, both?) try some of these self-help techniques. They sound obvious, but honestly, they do help.

1. Eat well. Stay away from sweets, alcohol, caffeine. Your body and mind will thank you.

2. Exercise every day. Just a brisk walk is enough -- you don't have to go to the gym. Helps w/ the emotional symptoms.

3. Dress in layers so you can peel something off when a hot flash hits.

4. Get enough rest.

5. Do something for yourself like meditate, read, listen to music, pray, watch a movie -- whatever makes you happy and relaxed.

Good luck, and God bless!

Yes. Check with your doctor.

Ummmm you get ur peroid every month hun

Go to the doctor and have your hormone levels checked. That is the only way to tell for sure.
