Does having a tubal ligation at age 22 (no kids) make perimenopause at 35 more likely? |
I have been experiencing symptoms of perimenopause for the past year and they are getting more pronounced. My first menstrual period was at age 10. Absolutely it will. I had my tubal at 27, and went into perimenopause about five years later. I did some research after the fact and was surprised to find out (although it makes perfect sense in retrospect) that the ovaries blood supply comes along the fallopian tubes, which were severed and tied shut, literally strangling the ovaries. Might as well have had a total hysterectomy. I found out, though, that progesterone cream (available at health food stores) helps considerably. Good luck! have a tubal ligation has not effect on menopause. Early cycles such as yours may though. Tubal Ligation does not affected perimenopause or menopause in any way. |
