Panic attacks and perimenopause.? |
i was wondering will my panic attacks go away if i get on some hormones? I suffered from panic attacks for many years but they seem to get worse as im going through perimenopuase. Definetly Yes! I had them as well. I am now on natural progesterone cream and have not had one in over 6 months! I also take supplents for my thyroid and adrenla glands! Between the two i feel much better! good LUck! go and see your doctor about this you need to take care of u and just u right now. your body is telling u to let go of the stress in your life. if you dont it will be on you no one else type in power surge menopause, great message board for menopause, i go there as needed. im going threw menopause to, type in Power Surge, menopause, its nice & lotts of info to read . i would have check with your doc. i have panic attacks, i am on meds for that and also take hormones. It might be a combination of the two and might need to take meds for each?! I would try exercise first before taking hormone replacement pills. Exercise can help regulate your system in general and take the edge off physical and emotional stress, regardless of the specific cause. You have to learn to control them and stop trying to run from them. Try to remember this the next time you have one. As soon as you feel your body begin to tense up and the fear creep in. Immediately let your body slump over if you can do so safely. And just ride the panic attack out like a wave. As soon as it is over get up and return to whatever you were doing. This will signal to your body and brain that you are in control and this will not have power over you anymore. The more you do this the less your attacks will become over time. Now I hardly have any attacks at all. But I never thought of using hormones talk to your doctor about that. Also check this book out from the library: Women who worry too much. By holly Hazlett-Stevens, PH.D. Good Luck to you! Hi! Check out a all natural product called Progest-E Complex, the company is called Kenogen, and the Internet addy is nutri-meds While hormones might help your physical symptoms, I doubt if they will do much for panic attacks. Maybe you should see a psychologist or counselor to discover the underlying reason for those panic attacks. The fact that you've had them before, proves that perimenopause has nothing to do with it. The attacks might be exacerbated because you're undergoing some physical symptoms too. There is no shame in going for emotional help, but it would be a shame if you didn't, and continued to suffer. Good luck! |
