Can a women as early as the age of 33 get menopause.? |
i'm very concern of my menstrual cycle recently. I've missed my period for 38 days now an i know i'm not pregnant. I never had an irregular period before although a couple of months back i've had a shorther menstrual cycle. I'm not on pills or antyhing. I've read about perimenopause. I think i have some of the symptoms e.g irregular heartbeat, dificullity to concentrate, hot flushes during the day. But i'm only 33 this year and i dont have any children yet..i wonder if at this age i could get perimenopause ? If so..am i still fertile..? Help..!! Also..sometimes i feel bloated in my tummy and somethings is wrong with my digestion system although i eat regularly. For information..my mum had her menopause at the age of 58. Best to go to a doctor and get checked out. The worst thing you can do it read up about menopause or any other type of pain/illness etc. Because you can make yourself believe that you have those symptoms. Also a lot of symptoms are common to a lot of different conditions. A friend of mine has PCOS and she gets hot flushes every time she gets her period. As for the irregular heartbeat, I was born with one. I'm no expert at all, but I read about a woman who had the menopause age 21. A friend of mine was told she was Pre-menopausel. However, she does have children...I don't know if she can still conceive. Good Question. some go through menopause at 30, some 40 some 50 it varies from woman to woman. It's possible but anything is possible. Sometimes cysts can cause your period to stop or you could be experiencing hormonal changes related to other issues such as stress, getting off the pill. Really you need to get checked out by a gynecologist because they will be able to order the right tests to determine and make sure there is nothing serious going on that could require treatment. YES, YOU CAN GO THROUGH MENOPAUSE AT 33. It is possible - a friend of our family went through menopause in her mid 30's. Go see your Gyno - they will know what's best. You can have a test done to see what your hormone levels are- I don't think its unheard of to skip a period but if you want to have kids you probably shouldn't be waiting. Sure there is an average age for Menopause and it's well above 33 but the fact that its average means that some women will have it earlier & others later. Somebody has to be lucky or unlucky as the case may be. So you can never count on the average and certainly its just blind luck, there is no entitlement for anyone. It is possible to get early menopause at your age. It is also possible it is just some sort of stress. It could be some weight gain or loss has effected your hormones messed up your cycle. You can speculate on what it could be till the cows come home. Best advice is to see a Ob/GYN Dr and let him take a look and run a blood test or two on your hormones Go to your OB/GYN and have your hormones checked. That is the only way to really find out. It could be something totally different that is throwing your body out of whack. It would be considered early to start menopause at 33. (I worked in woman's health care many years), most Drs will say that perimenopause symptoms usually begin closer to and after 35. One of the most common reasons to experience a long cycle or amennorhea (no period) is an anovulatory cycle...you just didn't ovulate this month... Maybe stress or health issues of any sort (weight loss/gain, a viral "bug", etc) played a part. One thing to note is that if your mother began menopause early, you may too. Be certain to find that out. If you go more than 3 months without a period, be seen by your GYN (this is if you know 100% that you are not pregnant). If uncomfortable waiting, you may want to call your GYN Dr sooner and discuss having some simple hormonal blood studies done. I fully understand your issue!! I began to experience hot flashes when I was about 28 yrs old at that time, my periods started to become irregular. At first, my periods would come about 3 weeks apart instead of 4 weeks, then I'd skip a period altogether. (My tubes are tied, so pregnancy was never a concern) At about 30 yrs old, I had a period that came and stayed 3 weeks. I ended up going to see my GYN and he prescribed me some pills that worked like a D and C. Those stopped the bleeding within two days. I'm now 33 yrs old, and my most recent issues would be "spotting between periods" that last for days or weeks. Yes, it's possible. Go to your gynecologist - that's the safest and quickest way to know for sure. Best of luck to you. ^It's not that common but it is possible, the best advice I can give you is to go to your gynecologist for a checkup. There can be other reasons but I'd rather not speculate. Yes. It is very possible. women as young as 20 can go through the menopause although it is very rare i suggest if you are worried go and see a doctor. |
