Steroids are illegal..why? it's my body i can put anything i want into right? just why is alcohol ok?

alcohol is illegal if you under 21 right? but when you use it you get drunk, lose motor skills and god knows what happens when you drive..but we put emphasis on steroids or performance enhancing drugs that only make us look better and feel better! what's the real issue here?

Steroids are not illegal if you purchase them through a pharmacy with a prescription from your Dr. Would you really shoot something in your *** that someone says is an anabolic steroid and not some thing like antifreeze. That you got from some dealer.

steroids are a short term benefit. The aftermath of taking steroids over a period of time is dramatic. You can lose your mind and have a mutated body over the long term.

alcohol just makes you fat, with a slight chance of addiction.

ssteroids i dont know, but i agree with you that they can make alcohol legal, but marijuana they cant figure it out! i mean how can they say its ok if it is taken medically (like steroids actually) but if u do it on your own its is dangerous. no one in the entire history of marijuana has ever OD on pot, and people die of alcohol poisoning, drunk driving, or liver failure, and not to mention alcohol ruins way more lives than pot ever did. its complete B.S. and the only reason that pot isnt legal is because anyone can grow it and it cant be taxed by the government. thats Horse Sh!*

All the things you mentioned from alcohol, steriods, other illegal drugs all are bad for your body. Some have an effect immediately, while others have a long term cumulative effect.

So why are some legal and others not? Who knows the real reason, but alot has to do with society's attitude. People think it's OK to drink alcohol so it's legal. If society as a whole thought heroin was OK it would be legal too.
The politicians want to keep on getting elected, so they enact legislation that will make the most people happy and vote for them.

there are those that want to legalize drugs, and there are nations that have.

if you choose to put poison in your body, should you be able to? you can make a case for it, but at this point suicide is against the law, so you can't totally put anything you want in your body.

steroids arent likely to harm you, they WILL harm you if you take them long term. you WILL develop cancer, kidney or liver problems if you take them long term.

the surface effects you speak of only patch a bad esteem. if it takes that to make you feel better, you have real issues.

look, if you are intent on using, i wont stop you. my words wont stop you, but you need to take a moment and ask how much your life is worth? eventually these things will kill you. dying with cancer spreading through my bones or abdomen, and all that related pain doesnt sound very fun to me. there are better ways to live and die.

I think you have been extremely miseducated about steroids. Steroids DO NOT ONLY MAKE US LOOK AND FEEL BETTER!!!!! My guess is that you have only hear that steroids build muscle... give you energy... yadda yadda yadda....
Here's what they do to the rest of your body... lets start small... they cause terrible acne... not particularly attractive. They also cause male pattern baldness. The also cause gynecomastia, which, is the formation of breasts on the male. Then, there are 'roid rages. People are steroids fly into horrible and uncontrollable rages, often violent ones. Lots of steroid users end up splitting from their families and losing their jobs because of these rages. They also cause high blood pressure and increase your risk for cardiovascular disease.... hypertension causes so many problems.... heart attack, stroke... and they've been known to occur in steroid users under 30, so don't think your age will protect you! The liver metabolizes steroids. Using them damages your liver, causes liver cancer, and a condition known as peliosis hepatitis, where blood-filled cysts form on the liver. These can rupture, causing internal bleeding. And let's not forget the health problems that actually injecting of the drugs can cause... infection, abcess, hematoma, hepatitis B, hepatitis C or even HIV if you share contaminated needles. Lots of anabolic steroid preperations are made outside of the US or Europe in unsterile conditions. Users may be lucky and get a simple skin infection, or you may get endocarditis, which is a heart infection. As far as the reproductive system goes, steroids decrease sperm production, alter the shape and compostition of sperm, and eventually lead to infertility. It increases the risk of prostate cancer, and cause TESTICULAR ATROPHY. That means your balls are going to shrink. That's a little ironic, don't you think. And once you have begun using steroids, and try to quit, users, fall into extreme depression....
So, yes, you do have the choice to put whatever you want into your body, legal or illegal... but are you sure steroids are what you want to put in your body?
And alcohol is a mystery to me... it too can be extremly dangerous...

the real issue is the long term affect. it will kill your liver and kidneys and increase your risk of cancer, is that reason enough, if not, it will shirink your b@@@s . dont be foolish, it only lasts as long as you keep taking them and it is a very expensive habit. not t mention you could go to jail if you have them, not to mention if you order on line you still will get caught and they will be taken and you will lose all that money

Why is alcohol ok? A very good question. I know some places where it is not legal. I wish it was illegal everywhere. But there are big companies which produce it and pay hefty taxes which benefit the government. And the machinery required to make it is realy big and can not be hidden. So it is easy to know who is making it and then tax them.

You are right. Why should you be restrained from putting whatever you want into your body? After all, despite merely anecdotal accounts, there is no real evidence that steroids produce the mind altering effects of narcotics or alcohol, which might make you a danger to society. However, if you wish to use this drug, and have it be legal, would you also be willing to bear the full consequences of your actions? This would mean that in the event of any health problems which would be, or could be, correlated to your steroid use, that you would sign a waver that would remove either the state or your insurance provider from any responsibilty. The cost of your health care would be entirely your responsibility. This would assure that you would have the right to "put anything" into your body, and at the same time would insulate the rest of the society from any cost related to that decision. Remember, justice is not just about an individual's rights, it is also about the rights of the collectivity of society to be protected from the assertion of an individual's will.

Steroids, marijuana, and alcohol come up so much in todays society. Truthfully, marijuana is not as harmful as many think it to be. As you stated Alcohol gets you drunk, you do things you normally would never do such as get in fights or car wrecks. When you do other drugs, steroids and marijuana for example, you do not feel like or do things like this, what i am trying to tell you is neither one impair your judgement. Do you know how many deaths have been caused as a result of alcohol, i dont know how many either but i know there have been a **** load. do you know how many deaths have resulted from marijuana this year, ONE, thats right 1 documented case. Steroids require a person to use saftely to have no side effects. I completely agree with you , it is my business what i do to my body and what side effects and unexpected outcome come out of it. I will tell you that there is one main thing that is causing the banning of drugs. The government. I will telll you straight up i am a Democrat. dont vote all dem. or anything but i do feel that republicans only aid to the rich, which the majority of the rich dont do drugs of any type so they see no gains in letting them stay.
There are plenty of ways to obtain anything you want, but remember, all things are fine in moderation, dont drink yourself stupid, smoke yourself retarded, or over dose on gear. Do your research on steroids and youll be fine.

Oh and to the person that said steroids dont make us look / feel better, they can suck my 8" dick and admire my perfect body. I have never gotten side effects from anything I have done because i played it smart. No shriveled balls, no liver problems, no hair loss, and no brain damage. I have had my blood tested repeatedly because i am afraid of falling into my parents foot steps and gettting diabetes or developing a problem with my thyroid. Blood test have came back in near perfection every time for the last 27 years. I am 44 now and look young 30's. Steroids have helped me since I was 21 and with all the test i have had done i can saftly say there is nothing wrong with me

It's dangerous to other people and can kill you when used incorrectly, just like alcohol. I guess the reason illegal steroids are of such big concern is that it is unfair. If there were steroid free games and steroid only games then it would level the playing field an be fair.

Everybody is talking about long term effects when using steroids. However i am a long term user and i only see positive effects. How can this be? And why is it impossible to find medical evidence to back up these term effects?

Alcohol is responsible for killing thousands of people each year. Steroids are responsible for healing thousands of people each year.

So yeah why is it illegal? No idea, just a lot of hypocrits in the government i guess.
