Questions for those who have PEPTIC ULCER DISEASE.. help?


We have a presentation at school on wednesday about peptic ulcer and there's a section about interviewing a person with peptic ulcer disease from the perspective of a specific culture. the culture we were assigned was FILIPINO
but all answers by ANYONE WITH PEPTIC ULCER would be appreciated!
we just need to hear the experiences of those who have the disease.

5. How severe is the sickness? Will it have a short or long course?
6. What kind of treatment do you think you should receive?

10. Is there any other information you'd like to share with nursing students?

I have the disease and it is long term..They gave me antibiotics trying to cure it but did not work at all..I don't know why I have it other than I had allot of stress when I was growning up and even as an adult ..I cannot eat when it is active my food does not digest..It has bled in the past. I have learned not to get stressed but our society that is hard but I manage.

4. It makes u very ill, cannot digest food and puts a hard rock feeling at the top of your stomach where ur esophagi meets your stomach

6. learning how not to stress is a big factor so treatment to control stress would be ad-viced
7. less pain when it acts up
8. my ability to enjoy food
9. that I will bleed so badly I would need immediate medical attention
10. Teaching patients how to adjust to the disease.
because in my case it is forever.
