How do i treat peptic ulcer?

How do i treat peptic ulcer?

Years ago, you were given medication that attempted to treat the excessive stomach acid your body was producing, and sometimes that allowed the ulcer to heal. If that attempt failed, usually the patient would end up with a perforated ulcer. ( Bleeding ulcer ) This would often require surgery.

In the late 80's a doctor discovered that ulcers were bacterial and could be treated with antibiotics. He was laughed to scorn. Later, much to the medical fields suprise, he was found to be right.

Usually they will give you an antibiotic, as well as some medication to help curb the excess stomach acid. Usually they can see some kind of progress in about 6 weeks.

My advice to you is to seek out your doctor and let him/her get you on a treatment as soon as possible before it gets worse.

Best wishes.
