Yogurt is certainly soothing for the stomach. You need to avoid fried foods, fatty foods, caffeine, spicy foods, and junk food.

Papaya is very good for the stomach. It's loaded with enzymes that help heal. If you can't get fresh papaya you can always buy the tablets. This will do more good for you than any other food.

If after a few weeks you don't feel better you should consult your medical doctor.

If you don't know what you have, then I guess you haven't seen your doctor....right?

That's exactly what you need to do. They will diagnose your condition and give the correct treatment for it. Never self-diagnose. 99.9% of the time, it's wrong. Enven if it's an ulcer, you need medication---no probiotics or yogurt will fix it.

try Mylanta

Yes, but try drinking less acids like soda orange juice or anything in that case Apple juice is ok but not to much. Also try to avoid heavy food like meats.

About 2/3 of stomach ulcers are caused by infection with a bacteria known as H. pylori, and someone won a Nobel Prize for figuring that out. Probiotics and yogurt will not cure an infection.

Most of the other 1/3 are associated with taking NSAID drugs like asprin, with drinking alcohol, and/or with smoking. Probiotics and yogurt will not remedy those either.

If you really think you have an ulcer, you should see a doctor who can prescribe the appropriate medicines (antibiotics and antacids). The Wikipedia entry mentions that probiotics might help treat H. pylori, when used in conjunction with *standard medical treatments*. When you see the doctor, you can ask her about adding protective bacteria to your diet.

A bacterial infection in your stomach that is causing bleeding and intense pain - which ulcers do - should be treated by real treatments, not supplements. If you had a bleeding, weeping, infected sore on your arm, no one would advise that you rub it with yogurt! At least not since the Middle Ages.

It's diagnosed by endoscopy not symptoms and is usually caused by a nasty little bug called h. pylori. If so, you'll need an Rx and you'll feel better shortly and won't have that discomfort and pain before you eat. Better to do that than to wait and maybe lose part of your stomach when a hole goes through the stomach lining.

I suggest trying all natural Alfalfa Complex. Along with its other amazing qualities, it has been found that alfalfa contains Vitamin U. Dr. Garnett Chaney, well-known food scientist of Stanford University, CA, has published his findings on Vitamin U and asserts that it has great possibilities as an aid for peptic ulcers. In fact, according to the record, 80% of the ulcers so treated were healed.

Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions or if interested in the brand.

No, probiotics won't cure either of those conditions. Probiotics replace your natural flora in the colon.

If the ulcer is stress induced then avoiding stress and taking prilosec OTC will help. If the ulcer is caused by an infection of H. Pylori ( a bacteria) then you'll need 2 antibiotics and a PPI such as prilosec, nexium, or prevacid.
