How can I ease the pain of a peptic ulcer?

My dr. prescribed Zantec for my acid reflux. It's also supposed to help heal ulcers. I think you can get it over the counter.

I'd suggest calling your dr, or a pharmacy, and asking about this product. You can also look it up online. I know it's really made a difference for me.

Prilosec and a glass of milk. It works.

Maalox or Mylanta. Possibly Pepcid AC. It may be best to see you physician.

The little purple pill is what my son used and he is doing much better. Oh and he really watches what he was eating. He is 9.

Tab. Butapan(Hyoscine butylbromide) 1 tab. thrice daily
or
Tab. No-spa(Drotaverine HCL) 1 tab. thrice daily for 2-3 days

Take icecold milk it could be helpful to reduce pain.

The above mentioned treatment only to reduce the pain of Peptic ulcer disease.But overall management needs to use of ulcer healing drugs.which reduces acid secretion of the stomach

Tad Ranitidine 150 mg. twice daily for two months then maintenance treatment should be continued.
or Cap.Omiprazole 20 mg. dose like Ranitidine.

You are to follow some advice -- Avoid hot, spicy, oily food.and also the food and drugs causes stomach irritation.Intake plenty of water.

This is not the complete treatment. To get complete treatment you should consult a specialist.

nexium and prevacid work the best, both are available from your doctor. these should be taken on an empty stomach before eating in the AM as they will help your stomach to reduce acid production, which will in turn ease the ulcer pain. maalox may also be soothing as well as pepto-bismol. try to avoid spicy foods, acidic foods (such as vinegar, orange juice), caffeine, and other foods with strong spices as this may also irritate the ulcer.
