How can I ease the pain of a peptic ulcer? My dr. prescribed Zantec for my acid reflux. It's also supposed to help heal ulcers. I think you can get it over the counter. Prilosec and a glass of milk. It works. Maalox or Mylanta. Possibly Pepcid AC. It may be best to see you physician. The little purple pill is what my son used and he is doing much better. Oh and he really watches what he was eating. He is 9. Tab. Butapan(Hyoscine butylbromide) 1 tab. thrice daily nexium and prevacid work the best, both are available from your doctor. these should be taken on an empty stomach before eating in the AM as they will help your stomach to reduce acid production, which will in turn ease the ulcer pain. maalox may also be soothing as well as pepto-bismol. try to avoid spicy foods, acidic foods (such as vinegar, orange juice), caffeine, and other foods with strong spices as this may also irritate the ulcer. |
