Peptic ulcers can cause bad breath?

i just want to know if peptic ulcers cause bad breath if so what is the treatment?im just taking antacid..pls help i dont want to have bad breath

First, treatment for the ulcer. Taking just antacids is not enough. That is treating the symptom but not doing anything for the actual problem. Taking something like Pepcid every day, twice a day is good for getting rid of the peptic ulcer. I know I had one.

Yes, I had bad breath and horrible stomache problems before I was DX and told to start taking Pepcid. I took 20 Mg two times a day every day for almost a year before the problem was gone. It takes a very long time for the ulcer to heal. The constant acid eruptions is what causes the bad breath and taking care of the acid problem takes care of the bad breath.

That said you still need to have good oral hygene or the problem will be bacteria in your mouth causing the bad breath.

To expand on this, the real problem with peptic ulcers (the problem that normally causes them in the first place) is either poor digestion or infection with the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, or both.
