Why are beverage such as a before-dinner cocktail inadvisable to persons with peptic ulcer?

Because alcohol is a very damaging substance to human body tissue in general. When you have a stomach ulcer, the lining of your stomach is aready dammaged and the alcohol will likley cause further distuction at the site of the ulcer. This can lead to grave concequences including perferation, bleeding and even death.
