Female Pelvic Pain...what could it be?

I have a dull, yet deep aching within my pelvic area - below my belly button and between my hips, mostly more to the right side, but also on the left.

I'm 24 and for the first time I have had to irregular menstrual cycles this year, it is the 6th month of the year and so far I have only had 3 periods. I'm not sure if this plays a factor...

I also have HPV and rarely I encounter very severe menstrual cramps on the 1st day of my cycle, although this is rare, when it happens, it is excrutiating pain.

My last period was 2wks ago and I don't expect to get my next until the 28th of June...so this cannot be cramping with PMS.

I don't feel this pelvic pain very often, but it has happened a couple months ago as well, and its quite uncomfortable, but bearable.

Does anyone have any educated opinions on different causes of pelvic pain? Perhaps early pregnancy symtom? Which I could be, but I don't think I am... and I've had this pain in the past... what could be causing this?

It's possible you could have a condition called endometriosis. This happens when the endometrium-the lining inside the uterus that you shed every month during your period-grows in other places that it shouldn't, such as the outside of the uterus, on the ovaries, the bladder, etc. These spots of endometriosis can cause irritation and pain, especially during your period since these spots bleed as well. Surgery can be done to remove endometriosis and there are medicines that your doctor can prescribe to prevent further growth.
I am 22 and have suffered from endometriosis for almost 3 years. My pain is very similar to what you have described: a dull, yet deep aching within the pelvic area, only mine tends to be more on the left side instead of the right, but it is, as you said, quite uncomfortable and sometimes even excruciating pain.
Talk with your doctor as soon as possible about your pain and ask him/her about the possibility of endometriosis. I hope you'll soon be doing well! Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.

Could be an ovarian cyst. They are not uncommon although they get a bad rap when they get bigger and cause more discomfort. They can occur more frequently mid-cycle as hormones fluxuate. I would keep track of these occurences, (timing, pain level, etc) so that you can discuss it factually with your doc if necessary. An anti-inflammatory (Advil, ibuprofen, etc.) may help as well as heat on the area.

You might be feeling yourself ovulate. Also consider getting checked for ovarian cysts.

For starters pelvic pain means there is a problem. It's not
normal for you or anyone to have pain there. I found that
out. I get pain there so bad, but I was resently diagnosed
with endometriosis, and pelvic pain is one symptom.
Check it out and see your doctor.
