I have chronic pelvic pain that nobody has been able to diagnose, any ideas?

I found a very painful pelvic lump 8 months ago and a CT scan confirmed this and it was removed. A week after surgery, my wound opened and i became severely infected. I have had constant pain since. I have had another CT scan, an abdominal ultrasound, a vaginal ultrasound, pelvic exam/pap, blood and urine tests. I have seen a GI specialist and have been to a pain management clinic. Nothing has shown up on any of my tests yet the stabbing pain continues daily. My wound has healed very nicely, but under my skin i can feel hardness and it hurts to touch. Any ideas of what it could be, what kind of tests should be done and/or what kind of physician could possibly help me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I feel like giving up. I am mentally, physically and financially drained.

I would get another opinion, especially since you are still feeling a hardness under there which could be a cyst. Sometimes cysts don't always show up on the tests. I had this happen to me in 2002/2003.

Since you are also financially drained check to see if there is a medical school close by that might be able to be of some help with this.

As for feeling like giving up I empathize because I felt that way when I was trying to find out what was wrong with me when it came to pelvic pain 10 years ago. It turned out I had endometriosis.

I don't know if this is one of your problems because only a dr can tell you for sure but I think it might be possible since all the other tests are coming back normal.
