Pediatrics?

My brother has pain from the knee down. The pain is the worst in his knee (the outer inside part of the knee, the side). We took him to the emergency room and to see his Doctor and both don't seem to know what is wrong with him. The nurse said he might be growing. His Doctor said to come back in a week if the pain continues. The doctor prescirbed Ibuprofen and he is taking one pill a day for the pain. The pain goes away for a while but comes back. His knees still hurt. The knees look swollen. He has difficulty walking. He limps. His knees bend and feel weak when he walks.
I just want to know what you think might be wrong with him.

In a week we are going to go back to his Doctor...hopefully they'll take some x-rays.

My son at age 8 had same pain. It's just growing pains. Have your mom give him pain medication. It lasted for about 1 week.

Good Luck!
