I want to be a doctor but dont want to see blood so ill be a pediatrics. What do i have to do to become one? |
Please insert best medical schools and colleges in california and the price to go in those schools. THANKS a little blood is ok but not surgery blood I am a physician and before I went to medical school I used to feel faint at the site of blood or open wounds. I used to have similar problems after I got to medical school, too. My first clinical rotation in my third year was surgery and after my first night on call all such problems were eliminated. It is natural for people to feel squeamish about these issues, but in medical school you get desensitized so you're able to have your arms in muck up to your elbows and still hold down the lunch you just wolfed down. Pediatricians see blood, too. Commit to the concept or become a counselor instead. Even in peds you will still see blood. Im not sure there is a specailty that a doctor could have where he or she could avoid seeing blood... It would be best to ask proffesors at your school once you are there what would it be best for you to specialize in and minamize your contact with blood. not sure that peds is for you, mate...kiddos need to have blood drawn, spinal taps (more often than adults), blood gases, etc. You still have to go to a four year university AND medical school, and take classes specializing in pediatrics. And you will still have to see blood, all doctors see blood at some point and you will HAVE to see it in med school. Pediatricians do a lot more than just look at the outside of a kid. If you must be a dr. and don't want to see blood, get a phd in psychology or english or something else...lol I hear everyone in med school, and most interns have to draw blood anyway. You Can Not be a Doctor and not see blood. Whether it is young or old! choose another professsion. Um, HELLO! In what world are you living that you believe you won't see blood in pediatrics. Before you start looking into medical schools and costs, you should try to get past your blood phobia. all doctors see blood, if you want to not see it, become a GP's assistant or a receptionist at a clinic. Or a dental assistant. There is not that much blood in that field. Pediatricians treat children, they see blood. You need to go on line and check out medical schools, but first you need to understand that your grades and test scores need to be pretty high level. Being a doctor takes years of schooling and internship time too. The average doctor spends close to $100,000 for a education. Get used to blood. I work in a hospital as a Tech and if you're going to be in any aspect of the health care industry you're going to deal with blood. Plain and simple and no way around it. If you can't possibly handle it you really can't be an asset and you need to rethink your career. why don't you be a psychiatrist it is a branch of doctorate IF you become a Dr.and you end up having blood spirting in your face you had better be a Surgeon trying to fix a ruptured vein, vessel or artery as blood situations only really occur in such circumstances, all others are more controlable. It sounds like you have been watching those medical fantasys on tv. Grey's Anatomy and what not are cool because the doctors are usually in a broom closet having sex. A REAL doctor doesn't have a problem with blood. ARE YOU JOKING!!!!! By the way, what makes you think you won't see blood if you go into the field of pediatrics , which is the care of infants and children? Babies and children bleed too, you know. I suggest you do some volunteer work, or paid work at a hosp. but I don't think you are ready to consider a medical career right now. Good luck, friend. seeing blood is not the only thing doctors do u r aneamic people suffering from aneamia cannot see blood all doctors see blood no matter what kind. try commiting to something different. a counseler maybe. If you're afraid of blood, pediatric is not your profession. idk |
