Help for Peanut allergy?

Hi all, My niece is having peanut allergy n she is just 3 yrs old. She's seen a doctor . Wat can we do at home to reduce the allergy other than the medicines.

Taking all of the peanut products out of the house is a good start, as well as reading labels of ingredients. I have a son with a peanut allergy and I've even found peanut flour in frozen pizza ingredients! It's great that all of the common allergens are highlighted on labels now and people are much more aware of the problem.

There's a lot to explain with this life changing condition! I don't think I could cover it all here, but fortunately there's a great organization/website that has all sorts of resources and information for food allergies. It has things they'll need like information for babysitters and schools to know what the allergic reaction will look like if it happens when she's there and etc. It's listed in my sources below.

The most important thing to do now is to tell anyone who cares for her away from her mom about her condition, including restaurants and schools.

Good luck - G.

Take all the peanut products from your house....it is a very serious and sometimes, sadly, deadly allergy.

Keep peanuts and peanut products well away from her. Make sure to read labels on prepared/processed food items to check for the presence of peanuts or any nuts in the product. Peanut allergy is a very serious matter indeed so caution is definitely encouraged.

simple yaar.don't buy and eat it.

Eliminate peanuts. use almonds cashews, hazelnuts. The oils from peanuts can be on everything you handle. Clean up with a lemon oil cleansers.

I know this may sound stupid but dont let her have peanuts. Treat them like you would anything dangerous to her until you know she is safe with them.

well check for nutrition labels that say may contain peanuts or nuts
and don't buy anything that you can't pronounce without checking it on internet
I am so sorry about the screen name
I love boiled peanuts

Get used to reading labels. My sister has that allegery, since more people are allegeric to peanuts companies make it easer to read the labels by putting in bold letters at the end of indegredents.
If you want to make Peanut Butter Jelly sandwhichs you have to either use 2 knifes one for peanut butter and one for jelly. Or you can get jelly first and then peanut butter second. You have to worry about cross contamination.
heres some easy things to remember
1. Keep a epipen in the house incase anything happens, you have to move FAST. once you get the epipen inject it in her thigh. You may have to give CPR.
2. Before she comes over, I'd just santize the kitchen, including tables, chairs, handles, anything a 3 year old can touch. Soap and water works. When I fly with my sister we tell the air lines ahead of time and then we bring baby wipes, before she sits on the seat, we santize the table, arm rests, and window.
3. Be aware of foods that are made in the same plant. MandM's are a great example. Yes they have peanut kinds but the plain chocolate kinds are cross contamaniated. They are made in the same plant, with same equpiment. Hersey Kiss are a great alternative to chocolate MandM's.

Hello,

Peanut allergy or any allergy is a immune function disorder. Believe it or not it can be fixed. Most people are unaware of this and usually have not done research on why a person has an allergy to various substances. The way to fix this to pickup some Colostrum from your health food store. Colostrum has been researched for many years and does have proof that it can work for person that has a immune problem. In this case, colostrum taken for a month will stabilize the immune response to peanuts and other substances and foreign antigens.
If you research it on the internet, there will be a lot of articles written on the effectiveness on allergies and colostrum.
