Peanut Allergy Problem? |
I have had a fatal allergy to all types of nuts since i was six years old & if i eat one i could possibly die. I have read in a magazine about a girl like me with a peanut allergy that kissed her boyfriend and died because traces of it was still in his mouth. I NEVER KISSED A BOY BEFORE & I'M 15! Should i be afraid of the consequences of kissing a boy because of this? And what should i do to get over my fear of kissing for this reason? This is a real and serious problem. For starters, you should always have an epipen on you. You, your relatives, friends, etc should know how to use it. You should also be wearing a medical alert bracelet. My husband has the same allergy; i don't eat peanut butter. l remember reading that story it happened to a girl in Quebec, a few months later l read a follow up story on her tragic death it was later confirmed her death was not from kissing her boyfriend with peanutbutter on his breath but she had actually eaten peanut butter her self. So l don't think you need to worry about kissing someone with peanut butter on their breath. but just to be safe have your boy friend brush his teeth after eating peanut butter and you will be ok. |
