Does Reese's use real peanut butter in their products?(Yes this is an allergy question)? |
My son has an extreme peanut allergy and his older cousin gave him some Reese's Pieces. He didn't have a reaction to it but now two days later he has diarrhea and a low grade fever. I need to know if this candy has something in it that is causing his digestive problems, since he didn't react the way he normally does to peanut products. Serious replies only please. This is an allergy that can kill him. It does have peanut butter in it. My son also has a peanut allergy, he's only 2. I've been told that he could react differently when exposed to it at different times and different amounts, from anaphylaxis to just a rash. It could be a delayed reaction, or an ongoing reaction. I know if my son is exposed to it he will continue to react for several hours or even days as the medication wears off and it is time for the next dose. My son's reactions are from contact only so far--one ER visit included--The thought that someone might unknowingly give it to my child to EAT scares me terribly! I hope he is well soon. hmmm I am not sure. But they have the best peanut butter in their peanutbutter cups. alergy alert YES they do Yes Reese's using peanuts in their candy. It is on the wrapper. as far as i know they use peanut butter and peanut oil on there stuff the packages say made in a place that uses peanuts or makes peanuts maybe it is a low quantity don't know but there is peanut butter in reese's pieces im not 100% sure but they probably dont use real peanut butter. YES, THEY DOOO!!! I TASTE IT BEFORE Yes they use peanut butter. He is having a delayed reaction. Yes, Reese's uses real peanut butter, but if this is an allergy that can kill him, you must take it to a doctor. I'm puzzled by this. Without wishing to be rude, are you *sure* he has an anaphylactic peanut allergy? AFAIK, Reese's does have real peanuts in so if he didn't react immediately then it could be a good sign. Reese does use real peanut products in both their cups and pieces. |
