Can you ever grow out of a peanut allergy?

Im allergic to nuts and have to carry epipens around with me but will i ever grow out of the allergy?

my friend, when we were kids had an allergy and had to carry an epipen around with him, not were teenagers he can eat nut and have no problem at all, so yes you can grow out of it.

Food allergy is a major cause of life-threatening hypersensitive reactions. Food-induced anaphylaxis is the most common reason for a person to present to the emergency department for treatment of the anaphylactic reaction. Avoiding the allergenic food is the only currently available method for sensitized patients to prevent further reactions. Strict avoidance of specific foods is accepted treatment of food-induced allergic reactions but is often an unrealistic therapeutic strategy for the treatment and prevention of food-induced hypersensivity reactions for the many reasons. Desirable therapeutic strategies for the treatment and prevention of the food allergies must be safe, relatively inexpensive, and easily administered. Recent advances in the understanding of the immunological mechanisms underlying allergic disease and better characterization of food allergens have greatly expanded the potential therapeutic option for future use. Several different forms of immunodulatory therapies are currently under investigation: peptide immunotherapy, mutated protein immunotherapy, allergen DNA immunization, vaccination with immunostimulatory DNA sequences, and anti-immunoglobulin E-therapy.

I have had a nut allergy all my life and as far as I have been told it is unlikely you will grow out of it. This is especially if it is a severe reaction to nuts. There are some cases of growing out of allergies, or becoming immune to the allergen by controlled exposure. You need to discuss this will your doctor or allergy specialist.

It is possible, and some people do grow out of these allergies. So, there is some hope. Most people don't, though, so it isn't a very big hope. I'm sorry you have to be afraid of reactions all the time, it must be something you really wish would end.

if you were born with it then you can grow out of it but if you develop it later on they you never grow out of it. My daughter developed an egg allergy when pregnant and carries her epipen every where and Will never grow out of it, my grandson was born with egg allergy and has since grew out of it.

It depends on how the allergy affects you? there allergies that are mild and there are those that cause shock or worse. For those mild reaction, I think anti-histamines will do. But for those that cause shocks, even at small amount is lethal. Once your body starts reactions with nuts, you will produce antibodies specific for that only. these stays at your system. So, if you eat nuts, your antibodies will notice them and reacts. Medications are made to hinder those anti's to recognize them and cause reactions.

or they could get worse.
or you could develop more.

You can cure this problem and eliminate the disease of allergies with simple methods of Yoga breathing exercises. This is a guaranteed fact and you can search for it online.

You'd be lucky if you did. I am 40, and I've had my peanut allergy for 4 years. I don't know how long it will take to get rid of it, but I still have mine.
