Is it possible that someone with a slight peanut allergy could die from a very large dose of a peanut product?

I need to know that for that crime fiction story I'm writing.

And is it also possible that if a large dose of peanuts (like peanut oil maybe) were administered, it would be enough to weaken someone so that shock would kill them (crucial plot point!)?

No. It would have to be a very severe allergy with full blown anaphalyxis before someone would even come close to dying.

it is possible if they don't have their epi pin with them.

Absolutely!! They have to be very careful.

sure. Mr peanut had to use a cane, you know. And Mr salty had a pronounced limp.

It would have to be a ginormus about of PURE peanut paste. And I mean ginormus.

Good luck with the story.

HAPPY GOBBLE DAY! <(:)~

yessss

absolutely don't ever feed peanut or oil or other peanut products to someone with these allergic reaction possibly fatal reactions could occur

yes it is possible . I know someone ( my friend) died , her long swelled of the reaction to peanuts.she couldn't breath .
The main problem with a peanut allergy is the severity of the reaction. In fact, studies by Scott H. Sicherer, M.D., associate professor of pediatrics at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a researcher in the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute, suggest that 80% of people with a peanut allergy have had a reaction that involves a breathing problem or experienced a reaction that affected multiple areas of their body. He further estimates that 100 to 150 people in the USA die each year from peanut allergies.

Yes, they even have warnings on labels that say these are made in a factory that uses peanuts or nuts in their production. Look at some chocolate bars.

If someone is allergic to peanuts they can get an anaphylactic reaction where their throat closes up & they can't breathe & die. There are news stories of it happening to kids eating in the school cafeteria.

Good luck on your writing. Sounds interesting.

yes

What is a slight peanut allergy in your mind? These kinds of allergies can lead to anaphylactic shock (throat swells up, etc.) which can lead to death very quickly. If someone has this they need to avoid peanut products and products made with the same manufacturing equipment. So label reading is a must. They need to avoid peanuts both internally and externally - as in skin products. What is shoe polish made of? I'm not sure myself. Good Luck with your book! (O:

yes i knew this person who was allergic to peanuts and his gf ate a peanut butter sandwich and then later they kissed and he died ( =
