How do i know if my patient rights have been violated.? |
i just had surgery yesterday. when i was admitted i told them i didnt want any post op meds d/t making me loopy. when i woke up from surgery the doctor was holding me down. when i told him the let me go he started yelling no your confused. i said no your hurting me let me go. they then proceeded to medicate me. i have talked to the hospital to see exactly what happened they tell me to review my chart. everything i told them not to do they did anyway. and frankly, i am not getting the answers i want This is horrible. I can't believe they did this to you. Holding a patient down has to be reviewed and has many checks and balances here. The patient has to be a danger to themselves/others. You obviously weren't.I would sue. I would speak with an attorney and see what records they can get and see what legal recourse there can be. First and foremost complain complain complain. Write a letter to the hospital administration explaining how upset you are. They will investigate extensively and will inform you of the results. Good luck and I am so sorry that this happened to you. Look at the sign on the wall. |
