What right a patient has that affect the privacy of patient information? Uh, under the HIPAA laws, you have a total right to privacy. Your medical information, including your personal identifiable information cannot be shared with anyone that doesn't need it specifically for your treatment. The penalties are very, very severe, including jailtime. The new HIPPA laws protect individual's right to privacy ~ The only person allowed is the person or persons you let have that right ~ by signing the statement sheet at your dr's office ~ iTS A PROTECTION TO YOU - iF A boss found out some medical information you could loose your job ~ but today, the HIPPA law protects that right ~ |
