After signing an authorization,the patient has the right to revoke it?

You certainly do have the right to revoke an authorization at anytime. If they give you any grief over it, you should report them to the agency listed on your HIPPA privacy form. That is why everything needs to be spelled out and explained thoroughly to patients before they sign anything.

That is a good question. I think because the authorization is legally binding you probably need to get legal help to revoke it. But I am not too sure.

Because you have already signed the authorization you will have to sign another paper to be placed in your chart. Make sure they give you a copy of this. They can not destroy the authorization paper from your chart because anything they shared to another doctor or group up to this point is covered by your original sig..
