Do doctors have the right to destroy patient history records without the patient's consent?

Do doctors have the right to destroy patient history records without the patient's consent?

she's right,i called my dr's office and they can keep the records up for 10 yrs, then after that they can discard without asking the for the patients permission

they are required to hold them for 10 yrs and then they can expunge them from his files....

To observe the patients' rights, the medical records should be saved and not destroyed or deleted. I think you mean records at a doctor's office not a hospital. So the records are saved in case there would be a necessity.
