If a patient was admitted with suspicion of intracranial aneurysm. On the following day, the patient underwent


a three-vessel cerebral angiogram that demonstrated a posterior communicating artery aneurysm and questionable anterior craniotomy for clipping of right posterior communicating artery aneurysm and Postoperatively, the patient was observe in the surgical intensive care unit until his mental status was stabilized. The palsy and ptosis noted preoperatively resolved during the postsurgial course. The patient has been ambulating without assistance and tolerating food well. The patient was also seen by the ENT service during the hospitalization for his otitis externa and their recommendations were followed. The final Dianoses right posterior communicating artery aneurysm; anterior communicating artery aneurysm; right otitis externa.

Okay, he sounds alright now and I wish I had been in on his operation, sounds like a goody and I haven't had a neuro rotation in forever....And your question is ?

But clearly the patient is fine now. And so you actually have no question. He was very lucky to have survived. So what do you think his treatment should be now that you have your diagnosis. You're going to want to stop the risks of further aneurysm? My grandmother died of one, it was a clot in her hip which travelled to her heart. So I'm quite interested in finding out what happened to this patient. And if possible I'm interested in why you decided to post it up here. Were you just trying to show off?
