Is it right for a doctor to give mophine to a patient, that has low blood pressure? It truly depends on the situation. If a person has terminal cancer, pain management is a crucial part of treatment. Unfortunately one of the side effects of morphine is that it can lower blood pressure. If the person is not terminal, there are other pain management options available. it's ok it depends on the exact numbers of the blood pressure, the patient's pain level, the patient's previous reactions to morphine (does it lower their blood pressure in the past?), and whether the patient is actively dying or not. first off that is not a good idea morphine will lower your blood pressure and if it is already low then you could run into some complications and if the patient was in pain there blood pressure would be high so my guess is they don't need such a heavy narcotic wishing you the best that ok,morphine slows respiration |
