2nd patella disloacation? |
i recently dislocated my patella or knee cap during the end of april. and its been healing since than, but while doing an excercise during PE it happend again and i put on my old brace and started using crutches again. i can feel it moving around and a little bit of pain. what should i do? should i let it heal on its own or go to the doctor for it? i recently dislocated my patella or knee cap during the end of april. and its been healing since than, but while doing an excercise during PE it happend again and i put on my old brace and started using crutches again. the first time it happend it was swollen a few hours after it happned but now can feel it moving around and a little bit of pain. I would see your doctor. There could be something more than a simple dislocation. You may need more than a brace. Better to be safe. It would be a good idea to be checked. The key afterwards is your rehab program. If this keeps happening then you may need consider fixing it. You must go to an orthopedic surgeon. You're just going to damage your knee more. My daughters did that starting when she was about 11. It happened whenever she jumped. The last time it happened it got stuck & the Dr's in emergency had to sedate her & slide it back into the groove. When she was 16 she had surgery to cut the muscle that was pulling the kneecap off.
