How long does a dislocated patella take to heal? |
Hi i have dislocated my patella while being tackled in rugby and it was extremely painful as i had the full momentum of sprinting then coming to a sudden stop and landing with my leg twisted. It popped back into its place by itself when it was straightened. Its been around 4 days now from the injury and it had swelled up ALOT! I have been given a strapon to keep my legs straight. It really depends how bad the injury was. Dislocations take quite a while to heal & the joint is usually weakened permanently after a dislocation. The swelling will probably take a few weeks to go down completely. I suggest u keep icing it & keep it strapped up & supported. 3 months |
